Patch High School

Alexander M. Patch American High School (also known as "Patch American High School" or "Patch High School") was an American school on Patch Barracks in Stuttgart, Germany operated by DODEA (formerly known as DODDS). Opened in 1979, the students were largely military dependents whose sponsors were assigned to units of the Stuttgart Military Community, including Patch Barracks, Robinson Barracks, Panzer Kaserne, and Kelley Barracks. From 1979-2006 the school operated grades 7-12. With the 1992 closing of Stuttgart American High School in Pattonville, Patch American High School became the only high school in the Stuttgart area. Patch High School officially closed June 30, 2015.

U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart

The U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart is a joint service military community composed of four installations (Patch Barracks, Panzer Kaserne, Robinson Barracks, and Kelley Barracks) in the greater Stuttgart metropolitan area. More than 20,000 U.S. military personnel, U.S. federal agencies, civilians, and family members make up the garrison community working and living on Panzer Kaserne, Patch Barracks, Kelley Barracks, Robinson Barracks, and Stuttgart Army Airfield.

Stuttgart High School

The closing of Stuttgart American High School and Patch American High School brought about the beginning for Stuttgart High School. Formerly Patch High School, opened its doors in a brand new facility in August 2015. SHS is a Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) school. Our community consists of armed forces personnel, DOD civilians and contractors assigned to the Stuttgart Garrison, United States European Command, United States Africa Command and various support groups.

AOSHS

Formerly known as DODDS. The origin, evolution, and development of American education abroad is a remarkable success story. On October 14, 1946, 38 elementary schools and five high schools opened their doors for 1,297 students and 116 teachers. Prior to this there were American schools overseas operated by the Department of War and the Department of State. It is this history of educating American youth and children overseas and its rich heritage of which coming generations should not be deprived. Today, DoDEA operates operates 160 schools in 8 Districts located in 11 countries, 7 states, and 2 territories. There are 996,069 military connected children of all ages worldwide, of which more than 69,000 (6.9%) are enrolled in DoDEA schools and served by approximately 8,700 educators.
